What do you think of when you hear October? Cooler weather – that’s a refreshing thought, although this summer has not been a particularly bad one here in North Texas, has it? Maybe all those Fall Festivals – in Burleson and surrounding communities – and those are truly fun activities to get in on. Perhaps it’s that we are now in the last quarter of 2025 and looking forward to the new opportunities ahead in 2026?
For me it’s not only some of those things, but something that has nothing to do with a new month. There is a new excitement in the air, a feeling of revival in this country. It seems I see it everywhere I go with people talking openly about God and some wanting to get in or back in church. We know that from the beginning almost 250 years ago that He has had his hand on this country to do great things around the world. We know that He has used us to be sometimes the only friend to His chosen people Israel. He has raised up from us some of the greatest “Christ promoters” to share His good news around the world. People like Billy Sunday, Billy Graham, and more recently Franklin and Will Graham, and Charlie Kirk. Of course, these are just a few, and there are certainly others you may be thinking of and praying for and helping to support.
So, what are some of the things we can do as Bethesda Baptist Church to get in on what God is doing? We can invite people to know Jesus. We can invite people to join us here as we worship together. And very important, live a life that exhibits Christ in everything we do and say, so that others may want what we have! That’s my challenge to you and me for today, tomorrow, this month, this year…until He comes!
